July 12, 2009 WOOD-TV 8 – Fred sits down with Rick Albin on To the Point to discuss cap & trade and how it will affect Michigan jobs and our overall economy. The House-passed bill threatens to kill jobs and raise utility bills. Consumers Energy in SW Michigan predicts hefty rate increases in excess of 38 percent for families in order to comply with cap-and-tax. Fred supports an all of the above approach to reducing emissions, with an emphasis on renewable sources of energy like wind and solar, as well as nuclear power. We can simultaneously preserve our environment and create jobs.

Fred joins local officials for the official groundbreaking of the site for a new terminal at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport. Fred has been working to expand and upgrade the airport since 2002, delivering millions for the project that will help boost our local economy.
