Washington DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution offered by Congressman Duncan Hunter to honor the service and sacrifice of Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas.  Agent Rosas was killed by gunfire last week in an area of the U.S.-Mexico border that is notorious for drug and human smuggling.

Americans should pay closer attention to California’s ongoing — albeit temporarily resolved — fiscal crisis.  What is happening in California may well forecast our nation’s fiscal future if we don’t act to prevent the same effects resulting from the same fiscal irresponsibility.

Mr. Speaker, since Mr. Obama became president, the economy has been his focus.  But, through executive orders and not so subtle hints in recent speeches, this Administration has put some effort into making America less safe than it was two months ago.
