Moore Votes for Bill to Limit Risky Executive Compensation Practices
(Washington, DC)— The United States House of Representatives today passed legislation to protect American taxpayers and shareholders from the excessive and risky compensation practices at large financial firms that contributed to the collapse of the financial markets last fall. Moore Hails Start of New GI Bill College Benefits
(Washington, DC)— Tomorrow, veterans will start receiving college education benefits under the GI Bill for the 21st Century, which passed last year. An estimated 2.1 million members of the military who have been on active duty since September 11, 2001 – including activated reservists and members of the National Guard – will be eligible for up to four years of education benefits because of the bill. This year, Congress extended those college benefits to all children of fallen soldiers, with no minimum military service needed to qualify.

Moore Secures $950K for Milwaukee Health Care, Education and Workforce Services in House-Passed Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Act
(Washington, DC)— The U.S. House of Representatives today passed a bill containing a number of provisions secured by Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) that will improve health care, education and workforce services in Milwaukee. The House version of the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Act of 2010 directs $950,000 to Milwaukee non-profit agencies that provide education and workforce services, as well as care for low-income individuals, children, the disabled and other vulnerable populations.
