July 08, 2009: Congressman Gonzalez Votes to Enhance Funding for Small Business Innovation and Research

Today, Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez (TX-20) voted to create new jobs and boost the economy by supporting small business innovation in research and technology. The bill modernizes the highly successful Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, more than doubling the amount of the grants small businesses can apply for and helping them engage in cutting-edge research.

June 29, 2009: Congressman Gonzalez & Secretary of Labor Solis Announce $600,000 in Grants for our Veterans

Today, Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez (TX-20) joined Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis at the San Antonio American GI Forum in announcing $600,000 in Department of Labor (DOL) grants. The grants are being awarded under the U.S. Department of Labor's Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program to expedite the reintegration of homeless veterans into the labor force.  American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program, Inc. in San Antonio will receive $300,000 under an extension of an existing grant and an added $300,000 under a new funding grant.
