House Chairmen Introduce Bill to Provide Quality, Affordable Health Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, the Chairmen of the three Committees with jurisdiction over health policy in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced comprehensive health care reform legislation that will reduce out-of-control costs, encourage competition among insurance plans to improve choices for patients, and expand access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans.
South Jersey to benefit from new round of arts funding
Congressman Andrews announced earlier this week that Rutgers University's Camden Campus will receive a $50,000 federal grant to support jobs in various philanthropic and art support programs. Funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and distributed by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), over 630 grants of this kind have been awarded nationwide, totaling nearly $30 million. ...more

Washington, DC - On Thursday, July 2, Congressman Andrews announced over $1.68 million in new federal funding to improve South Jersey health centers. Congressman Andrews' announcement followed last Monday's White House press conference where First Lady Michelle Obama announced the release of $851 million in grants nationwide, designed to address the immediate facility and equipment needs of America's health centers and expand service for those who cannot afford insurance.
